TOPIC: MIGHTY MEN OF VALOR

TEXT: Judges 6: 11-12, 14-16, 24 – 27, Judges 7:1-7, Romans 16:1-15, 2 Samuel 23:8-39
What will you be remembered for? Gideon is remembered as a mighty man of valor. In the Bible too, we remember Cornelius as a devout man, and one that feared God with his entire house, which gave much alms to the people and prayed to God always – Acts 10:1-4. We remember Dorcas as a woman who was full of good works and alms deeds which she did – Acts 9:36.


Whom do you remember in the Bible, in the Church or in your country and the good work that he or she did? I remember Nehemiah and how he built the broken wall of Jerusalem – Neh. 13:31, 29 -30 (Sacred songs and Solos 798, 555). If you die today, will you be missed? If you travel will you be missed?

Justice cannot be done to this topic without remembering the heroes of faith listed in Hebrews chapter 11 and the love of God that he gave his only begotten Son and the work of Jesus Christ on the cross of Calvary.

Be a gallant soldier. God is in search of men of valor. Hear him cry, “And I sought for a man to stand in the gap”. Again, “Whom will I send and who will go for us?” (Isaiah 6:8) What are you good at? What do you have in your hand? Excel there! Do exploit there, for the people who do know their God shall be strong and do exploit and since the day of John the Baptist the kingdom of God suffereth violence and the violent taketh it by force.

Do you have flare for evangelism like me? Prevail there. Do you have money? Spend it for God. Can you sing or play the instrument well? Excel there. Be sure you know what you have in your hand. Moses had a rod and God said use that.

Use the talents you have in your hand and forget about what you don’t have. Use your position, poor or rich, weak or strong, single or married, with children or childless. Occupy with what you have till He comes. You are a steward, you will surely give account. You may be steadward of five, two or one talent. The Lord will not ask you to give account of what he did not give you.  

David had there mighty men of valor and thirty-four men of valor including Uriah the Hitite - 2 Samuel 23:8-39. Do you want to be a man of valor? Jehovah is you strength, Rise up on your feet and be a man of valor today for with God all things are possible and he says asks it shall be given unto you. The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit as you fight to the end valiantly and gallantly. Amen.
